I had a little bit different Thanksgiving than I have ever had before this year. The holidays have been rough for Cody these last couple years because he has had to work pretty much every holiday at the fire station. We are never really quite sure what to do over the holidays because I don't want to leave Cody behind yet at the same time it is hard for me to be alone. So, I had it all planned out in my head that I would hitch a ride to my parents with my sister so I wouldn't have to be alone, and then Cody could come up once he got off work. However, right before it was time to go I got a feeling like I needed to stay behind and just wait until Cody got off work to go. I have to admit, I was a little bit disappointed, but I actually ended up having a really good day. Maddy and I woke up and went and saw Cody at the fire station for a couple hours and then we came home and I made a special Thanksgiving dinner for Maddy. I made her favorite food, cheddar shells and little smokies, and then for dessert, little debbie cakes. :) We then took naps, watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and danced for probably and hour to Christmas music. Then we had ourselves a serving of ice cream and we played hide and seek. All in all I have to say it was one of the more memorable Thanksgivings I have ever had. In light of Thanksgiving I just have to say how grateful I am for that sweet little girl. She brings so much joy to my life. There is no better feeling in the world than when that little girl blows me a kiss and with her sweet little voice say "lub hoo". (love you) :) I also want my husband to know how grateful I am for him. Not just for the wonderful husband that he is but for the way that he serves our community. He sometimes works for 48 hours straight with no sleep serving others with little or no thanks from those he serves. He definitely does not do it for the pay, he does it because he loves helping others. Cody, I just want you to know how much you are appreciated. Even though it seems as though you aren't appreciated by other sometimes, our communities could not survive without the men and women that serve us day in and day out. I love you, and am so proud to say that I am married to fireman. :)
